"Lady From Sonora"- Citrico Cafe & Agaveria

2nd Place - Best Cocktail of The Year

As an Agaveria, I wanted to create a cocktail that was interesting & innovative. We carry about 7 different types of Agave spirits, we wanted to use something less common! Bacanora is a very interesting agave spirit from Sonora. It's herbaceousness & funkiness pairs so well with sage.

Pineapple infused Kilinga Bacanora Blanco, Coconut & Sage Syrup, Citric Acid.

"Tamarillo-Vino Pisco Punch"

cocktail in large snifter

3rd Place Best Cocktail of the Year

The Tamarillo is an Amazonian fruit & the flavors mimic riesling wine very much. I combined these flavors by cooking the Tamarillo in the riesling wine & adding sugar along with a green tea & Torontel Pisco from Caravedo, which has a lot of citrus and floral flavors.

Caravedo Torontel Pisco, Tamarillo-Riesling Syrup, Lemon Juice, Jasmine Tea, Water. Build in glass & add ice!

Garnished with a tuile made from leftover citrus, pulp, & sugar.

In addition to being a representative for Caravedo Pisco at the NY Cocktail Expo, Glendon Hartley is an owner of

Bar Amazonia, Washington D.C. - which provides a relaxed ambiance for savoring an extensive array of Piscos, imaginative cocktails, & indulging in tantalizing small plates alongside bountiful sharing dishes.

"El Mexi" - Mexi

orange cocktail

People's Choice Best Cocktail of the Year

Once upon a time, when Mezcal was relatively new to the cocktail scene, the team behind Mexi started a pizza bar called Macchina in Manhattan & created a cocktail to complement their wood-fired pizza. 10 years ago, under the guise of the name Juan en Roma (a play on 'When in Rome'), "El Mexi" was conceived.

Throughout the years as the team evolved & started new projects, the popularity of the cocktail kept it evolving through many different versions. Now established in Williamsburg, in the house of Mexi, NYC's largest house of Mezcal, Tequila & Agave Spirits, "Juan en Roma" has become its latest version ~ El Mexi.

This is our cocktail with 9 lives, always landing on its feet!

Granja Nómada Mezcal, Aperol, Passionfruit, Ruby Red Grapefruit, Coconut. Garnished With Chili Maya Sea Salt Rim, Cantarito Caviar.
