ABOUT THE BAR
Patent Pending is a speakeasy themed bar in the famous Radio Wave building. This is the building in which Nikola Tesla lived and performed his experiments on radio waves, transmitting them to his laboratory near present day Trinity Church in downtown Manhattan.
The ‘waves’ which guided you here (GPS) and surround you now (WiFi) were envisioned by Tesla more than a century ago. Born during a lightning storm, Nikola Tesla was a child of light. An immigrant, an innovator and a patriot, Tesla dreamed of a world which few others could imagine. He was an eccentric genius, an ‘Electric Messiah’. We toast to him and the countless others that think outside the box, persevering against all odds.

A masterful blend of 8-year-old Barbados, Dominican and Trinidadian column still rums individually aged in ex-Bourbon American oak casks, and combined with high ester unaged Jamaican pot still rum. 100% rum with no added sugar, coloring, or flavoring. 40% ABV

ABOUT THE COCKTAIL
"IMMORTELLE"
Ten To One White Rum / Fermented Hibiscus / Lacto-Fermented Lime / Yuzu-Kosho / All-Spice / Falernum / Chareau Aloe Liqueur
This year my submission for New York Cocktail Expo is a product of this year's sustainability/waste management concerns. I wanted to come up with a tropical styled cocktail that would utilize ingredients after its first life is "over". This ensures not only cost saving but most importantly environmental preservation in a time when it’s needed most.
Immortelle itself is a tropical sour using Ten to One Carribean White Rum, aloe liqueur, lacto-fermented lime, Yuzu-Kosho and fermented hibiscus tea.The nose is floral, fruity and bright with ground hibiscus tea powder and pineapple hitting up front. The palate drinks full bodied, grassy and refreshing with a savory note from the Yuzu-Kosho that comes through at the end. This cocktail is perfect for to-go/delivery due to the shelf-life of the ingredients. However, more importantly this cocktail is a perfect way to enjoy Ten to One White Rum in a crafted cocktail from the comfort of your home.
